Haydock Library 2025

Hello Mooch fans!

Since January 2025, Mooch has been busy on a new exciting project at Haydock library in St Helen’s, near Liverpool.

Emily Peasgood Studio in January successfully won a contract in order to redesign the Haydock library, a project commissioned by St Helens Borough Council, in collaboration with the parent-carer forum Listen4Change. The redesign will be informed directly by children, young people, adults, and families with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), making the space truly reflective of their needs.

Mooch was asked to join the team as a project manager. Theresa has been supporting the Haydock Library redesign by coordinating and assisting with public consultations. This has involved helping to plan workshops and gathering feedback from children, young people, adults, and families with SEND to ensure their input informs the project. Emily has now entered the design phase of the project, working alongside Studio Ben Allen to propose the new libraries layouts.

Mooch is very proud to be working with such a fantastic team on a project that hopes to redefine space accessibility and design for ALL users. Stay tuned to see how the Haydock library project develops.
